KollectiON is a Personal Database Manager utility providing extra functionality for the Movie and Book Collector.
New: . Splash screen added prior to startup. . Selection counter added in bottom right corner of banner. . Item & Selection counter added to Import / Update Info Source dialog. . Import / Update Info Source dialog now displays the info sources used for the Field Set selected. Fixed: . CSV import for movies and books had missing cast and crew for some entries. . Search queue message still showed "Not searched yet" even after a search returned no results. . Some cover images from Amazon info source, e.g. Terminator Salvation, did not display in the preview window, but were visible in the popup image window. This was due to unsupported characters in the image filename. . Some special characters found during XML import causes the import to abort. . Some special characters imported with XML display correctly in main preview window but are not saved correctly to .mvc binary file. . Some special characters do not display correctly in the main preview window on Windows XP machines, but do on Windows Vista machines. V3.10 (Public Release) Fixed: . The installation message about Vista now additionaly includes Windows 7 regarding the recommended installation folder for KollectiON. . Added option to include Title extension in update search now. By default this is turned off. Fixed: . Some special characters in web pages were causing some scripts to fail to read search or details web pages from info sources. The problem was due to character set conversion for some web pages. . Clicking the "Auto Update Scripts and Configuration" in the Info Source Settings dialog box too quickly would sometimes crash KollectiON, and on rare occassions cause the settings.xml to be reset to zero bytes. . Info source Dialog box did not display Search / Add / Close buttons on screen resolutions of 1024 x 768. V3.08 (Public Release) Fixed: . Downloaded script file timestamps have now beenmade to match the original last modifed date of the original scripts stored in scripts.zip. . Image popup viewer behaviour changed. Popup image preview panel is now modeless and does not require closing in order to display another image. . Popup image panel pops up dynamically when moving the mouse over thumbnail images. You can now update the text fields Title, Barcode and Season in the import info source dialog box. This works both in Import and Update mode. . Two new import info source options added "Single Country" and "Single Language" for additional IMDb script support. DaveC is going to change the IMDb scripts to make use of these options. V3.06b (Test Release) Wip: . Character encoding problem has been found with Movies that have special characters; i.e "The 13th Warrior" on Amazon.co.uk. This effects the parsing of HTML translation to XML and parsing the XML to KollectiON. New: . All registry settings moved to a single settings.xml file, including the user country and season file's. . Default settings GUI added (like in Movie Collector) for Movie DB's only. This applies to both Import info source and Import CSV data. . XML Import now has Character set encoding selection box. . Field sets added for info sources. DaveC has written the IMPA script to support thisfeature so that poster artwork can be downloaded and added to movies. . Installation images folder now includes the additional sub-folders: Posters, Disks, Inlays, Booklets and Spines . All types of movie images now display in Movie preview for Front, Back and Link images. . Added Epsiode support: And DaveC has written a IMDb and TV Rage script to support the episodes feature. . Movie DB tables are now initialised the same as in Movie Collector when creating a new database using Import Info Source, CSV Import and XML Import. E.g Year Table is populated with the years 1950 upwards, Genre table with Action, Drama, etc. . Scripts are now downloaded as a single zip file in background using HTTP and not FTP. Loading the Import/Update Info Source dialog box is much quicker now as the scripts are pre-loaded as soon as KollectiON is launched. Also, the script zip only gets downloaded if your local copy is out of date, and, there are timeout checks in place should there be no internet connection. . Previously loaded database(s) can optionally be autoloaded next time KollectiON is launched. This is turned off by default and can be enabled via the Options dialog form. . Recently used Database menu option has been added to retrieve and open a list of previously loaded DB's. . Title fields added to info source selections to give user control over which info source the Title comes from. Warning messages are issued if a user attempts to add a movie to the DB when a Movie has no Title. Fixed: . Double dots appeared randomly on some search results returned in the search results tree for Import/Update Info Sources feature dialog box. . XML Import failed to read some XML files formatted with certain character sets. . Selecting more than one checkbox per row was allowed when selecting info source fields on some occassions. . Some check boxes ("Actor" field under "All Movie" for instance) would randomly disappear. . Some links were omitted in when updating movies . In some cases, all info sources were being searched when only a few were selected. . Installation on 64 bit Windows 7 created wrong desktop and menu shortcuts which specified an incorrect path to the java.exe application. This possibly effects 64 bit Vista as well, although unconfirmed. . New v6.3 format failed to read in for DB's which have data fields populated to use the Collectorz Connect feature. . Missing Cover images from DVD Empire caused front/back cover fields to be left with non-existent URL image path. . CSV import dialog box became cropped sometimes when input file path was very long making the OK/Cancel buttons inaccessible. . CSV import gave "IndexOutOfBounds" misleading message. The message has been changed to give more details about the nature of the problem. . CSV and XML import gave "IndexOutOfBounds -1" errors after doing successful imports. . CSV import gave a "NullPointerException" when previewing the movie if user set the wrong date format. . CSV import gave ClassCastException sometimes when trying to import into a Book Database. . Cleanup images only processed a single image path for a database. Multiple paths are now supported. . MySQL Export had missing Publisher foreign key missing in Book table for Book Collector database. . Episode scripts no longer need to have dummy plot tag which was required to get round the episode plot field being copied into the movie plot field. . XML details parse error was caused on certain movies from IMDb (e.g. "Fun with Dick & Jane") v3.05 (Public Release - 19 August 2009) New: . countries.txt is now downloaded from FTP server and not distibuted with KollectiON . IMDb script modified to handle user's country location using KollectiON for both the certificate rating and movie release date. V3.04b (Test release) New: . Users can now select their country of origin for the Import Info Source feature. This is so that the IMDb script correctly uses the movie certificate rating for the users country. . Adult info sources can now be hidden. By default they are hidden on first time use. . Users are asked to go and setup the update fields when doing an Info Source Update if they have not got any update field check boxes selected. . Users are asked if they want to exit the Import Info Source or Update Info Source dialog if there are still items in the search queue. . Improved robustness of application launching. . Public testers credits added to About Box . After Update Info Source performed on a selection of movies by selecting "Update", if there are no movies left in the search queue list then the Update Info Source dialog box automatically closes. . Disabled "Compact Database" option in MySQL export, due to Compact feature being disabled completely in KollectiON. Fixed: . Users cannot edit the fields in the main table now. . CSV import gave Index out of range error when text qualifier was set to "None" . Plot and notes section in MySQL data tables was in wrong order with respect to front/back/thumb images. . Update Info Source popup menu text changed from "Add Selected" to "Update Selected" . When no info source fields were selected in the info source settings dialog, then the incorrect warning message was displayed. Known Problem: . Lock file does not get deleted sometimes when closig a Database. Solution: just delete the lock file making sure the database is not open in KollectiON and/or Movie/Book Collector V3.02b (Test release) New: . Import Info Source barcode field now excepts enter key, the same as the title field. . Main table sort on ID and Index columns now correctly sorts numerically and the Title column now uses titlesort field for the sort criterior. . Info Source Settings "Auto Update" column values on scripts tab changed from Check boxes to yes/no values to avoid confusion Fixed: . Import Info source missing title on imports caused movie not be added, specifically when using barcode only searches. Searches will now always return a title, with IMDb overriding any already selected. . Clicking "Update" in Update Movie Dialog showed wrong warning message dialog even if a search had not yet been performed. . Import info source only allowed one barcode to be entered . Classpath error trying to connect to MySQL server. . Update caused exception when disk count in original movie had more discs than preview movie. V3.01b (Test release) New: . Now supports both v5.6 and v6.3 database formats. Either format can be read / written . Significant database load speed improved. Binary Databases load is a lot quicker now. . Appended movie Year to Title for Update Info Source search queue and Search Results tables. This is to avoid confusion between movies with same name made in different years. Fixed: .User must now choose a Title from one of the info sources before a search can be performed. This is to avoid problems when doing Barcode only searches, where movies were prevented from being added when no Title was choosen from an Info source. . Main menu list table was not remembering table sorting after returning from some dialog boxes or switching between other loaded databases. . FTP script download when hardware firewall is installed on network - java.io.IOException: Host attempting data connection 127.0.0.1 is not same as server xx.xxx.xxx.xxx . Some info sources do not like "/" character in search text, so this character is replaced with space during searching. . Update movies from Info sources with same Titles caused mismatch of info source to movie resulting in incorrect data being updated in movie. (e.g. Alfie, Cape Fear, etc.) V3.00b (Test release) New: . Added info source update movie feature. . Application version raised to 3.00, because there are some major changes to the code . Links field is now mandatory added with Import Info Source feature and no longer appears in the info source field selection list. Problems were found during implementing the update info source feature when the link was missing for a source that required updating . "Compress" wording changed to "Compact" to avoid misleading users. . Added Barcode support to info source feature. . Added Movie Preview to main GUI. So you can browse your collection from the main GUI now. . Added batch mode to preview and "Add" button info source searching to match Movie Collector behaviour. Batch mode makes it quicker to choose your movies, because downloading is postponed until the Add button is selected. Fixed: . Cast and Crew first names incorrectly contained trailing white space character. . Config file settings were not getting saved using script config settings GUI. . Null pointer Exception in MySQL Export for Books on same tables . MySQL Export now works with multiple databases loaded of different types (Movie/Book) . Info source import can now be searched with special characters in Title, eg ? @ + < > , etc. V2.51b (Public Release) New: . Full Actorhead support added; take a look - Actor Head support being added.... Actor head images are also renamed to something sensible too so users can browse and update manually if they like. And the Actorheads will work with aqua templates! . Info source scripts can be configured by a new GUI instead of editing XML config files with a text editor (But you can still do it the old fashoned way if you like!) The GUI also allows control of wether users want to autoupdate or not from the FTP server. . info source scripts and XML config files can now autoupdate via FTP server. Users also have control over which info source scripts/configs they want to keep upto data via the FTP server . "images\actorheads" path added to support actorhead downloads . Default images path was "images" and has been changed to "images\covers" . When adding info sources with cover images the images overwrite any exising ones in the images destination folder. Users now have the option to choose wether to overwrite existing images or ignore and use existing images. This also applies to Actorhead images as well as covers. . Info source script config file naming convention changed. . Info Source scripts and config files are no longer distributed with KollectiON, these are now downloaded automatically from FTP site and kept up to date. . Compress database feature has been disabled due to conflicts with info source data imports. This will hopefully be fixed next time round. Fixed: . XML import feature did not import Cast or Crew "URL" or "The" fields. This is needed for the Cast/Crew links to IMDb and the ActorHeads defined in the "The" field. V2.50b New: .
