I get the same with your data you sent. I will look into this.

There was a bug in KollectiON which I have now fixed and will be available shortly in the next release.

Post Re: Import Database
Mark, using KollectiON 3.11, trying to use it with Book Collector v6.5, any time I try to open database and then select a .bkc file, it tells me "Database version not supported". I also tried it on some old backups from v5 & v4 and got the same message.

It's the first time I've tried it with Book Collector.

It's running on Win7 64 bit

Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray,

KollectiON v3.11 does not support the latest version of Book Collector, but the next release will.

Post Re: Import Database
I have been trying unsuccessfully to import a CSV file.

I select Book as the type of database, select the source file, select the destination database press OK, the input window disappears and nothing happens.

I would attach the CSV file , but I cannot see any option to do so.

Any suggestion would be welcome.

Any timeframe for the new version that supports the latest Book Collector?

Thank you
John

Please take a look at the common problems in the HOW TO for CSV import. If you are still getting probelsm then please email me the CSV file.

Post Re: Import Database
NB: Although you CANNOT import to a V6 database, you can use Kollection to create a NEW (V5) database. To do this simply import the CSV file and specify a new, non-existent database (eg NewImport.bkc).

Once Kollection has created the NEW database, simply use Book Collector to convert this to the current (v6) format.

No need for Mark to do anything (yet) :D

Post Re: Import Database
Hello!

I'm trying to import some book info into a new database, but Kollection seems to not recognize 3 fields: Read It, Issue No. and No. of Pages.

Sample data:

Code:
"Title";"Author";"Publication Date";"Publisher";"Format";"ISBN";"Language";"Series";"User Text 1";"User Text 2";"Collection Status";"Dewey";"Read It";"Original Language";"Location";"Issue No.";"No. of Pages";"Country";"Original Country";"Original Title";"Translator";"Rating"
"Mago e Vidro";"Stephen King";"2005";"Objetiva";"Brochura";"8573027142";"Português";"A Torre Negra";"";"";"In Collection";"813.22";"Yes";"Inglês";"Prateleira 3-2";"4";"813";"Brasil";"EUA";"Wizard and Glass";"Mário Molina";"10"
"Escolha dos Três, A";"Stephen King";"2004";"Objetiva";"Brochura";"8573026480";"Português";"A Torre Negra";"";"";"In Collection";"813.22";"Yes";"Inglês";"Prateleira 3-2";"2";"415";"Brasil";"EUA";"The Drawing of the Three";"Mário Molina";"10"
"Pistoleiro, O";"Stephen King";"2004";"Objetiva";"Brochura";"8573026030";"Português";"A Torre Negra";"";"";"In Collection";"813.22";"Yes";"Inglês";"Prateleira 3-2";"1";"221";"Brasil";"EUA";"The Gunslinger";"Mário Molina";"9"
"Terras Devastadas, As";"Stephen King";"2005";"Objetiva";"Brochura";"8573026693";"Português";"A Torre Negra";"";"";"In Collection";"813.22";"Yes";"Inglês";"Prateleira 3-2";"3";"526";"Brasil";"EUA";"The Waste Lands";"Alda Porto";"10"
"Ponto de Impacto";"Dan Brown";"2005";"Sextante";"Brochura";"8599296019";"Português";"";"Jan 5, 2006";"Jan 11, 2006";"In Collection";"813";"Yes";"Inglês";"Prateleira 2-3";"";"440";"Brasil";"EUA";"Deception Point";"Carlos Irineu da Costa";"10"

Log window:

Code:
Info> Reading CSV Delimited text file:  C:\Documents and Settings\198893\Meus do
cumentos\livros.csv
Info> Field name #13 not recognised in header:  Read It
Info> Field name #16 not recognised in header:  Issue No.
Info> Field name #17 not recognised in header:  No. of Pages

This fields are supported? In that case, maybe I misspelled them? Thanks!

The "Read It" field is not supported - use the "Times Read" field instead.

The "Issue No." and "No of Pages" fields are not supported by this version of KollectiON but are in the next release.
